Workforce/Talent Pipeline

Talent to Grow

Skilled talent is critical to grow your business. Our communities were selected for a second-stage pilot program for Talent Pipeline Management, created by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Download our Ebook.

We're hosting employer-led collaboratives that are sharing local employment data, identify critical employment needs, and identifying the preferred talent providers for the region. Supply chain-style dashboard measurement systems and feedback on what works. Preferred talent providers receive special recognition and incentives.

Career Awareness

Exposing young people to career possibilities builds our pipeline. We introduced National Manufacturing Day tours in 2014. In response, regional manufacturers have generously opened their doors to over 250 high school students each year to demonstrate their operations and help students plan for the future. Career Technical Academy's partnership on Manufacturing Day allows small groups of students to consider a profession and to ask questions of professionals in their industries of interest.

Job Shadows

Identifying students' interests leads to job shadows with a regional employer. Making local connections helps students gain insight into what employment paths are available to them now and in the future. Owners and managers enjoy the opportunity to meet students and learn from their perspectives about the future of work.
