Job Shadows

Some of the best classrooms have no walls!

Job shadowing is a career development strategy where an individual follows a professional to observe their daily tasks, meetings, and workplace culture. Typically, lasting one day to a few hours, it helps students and career-changers explore industries, build networks, and gain firsthand insight into a specific role.

With over 60 members, NWILED can facilitate job shadows for interested students and career-changers in a variety of industry sectors:

  • Agriculture and Agritourism
  • Construction
  • Manufacturing
  • Retail
  • Finance
  • Real Estate
  • Professional Servies
  • Higher Education
  • Public Administration
  • Energy

Those interested in building their professional networks, finding future mentors, internships, or apprenticeships, improving their soft skills, and or wanting to add the experience to a college application and/or resume may inquire.
